Woodworking is a craft that demands skill, dedication and experience. Irving and Floyd Walker began their business in 1947 with an old-fashioned belief in craftsmanship and an eye for detail. Today the second generation of Walker Brothers, John and Tom, still offer custom architectural woodwork produced with that same pride.First manufacturing residential kitchens, custom furniture, wood windows, doors, and specialty items, Walker Brothers gradually began to shift from residential to commercial and institutional casework in the late 1950's.Wood and plastic laminate casework and flush wood doors became a mainstay of the company along with traditional fine millwork such as custom moldings, stile and rail doors, windows, paneling, shutters, stairs, and turnings still produced with the high level of craftsmanship the Walker Brothers established from the very beginning. Casework is no longer in the product line. The company now produces only fine millwork including architectural grade labeled wood door frames. All items from Walker Brothers Millworks are manufactured in accordance with the strict quality standards of the Architectural Woodwork Institute (AWI).
